Oil pressure warning light: meaning and what to do
What it means
The engine isn't getting enough oil pressure. Running like this can destroy the engine within minutes.
Can I keep driving?
No. When the oil pressure light is on, pull over where it's safe and turn the engine off. Driving on can cause serious damage or make the car unsafe.
What to do
Pull over safely and turn the engine off. Check the oil level when it's cool. If the level is fine, don't drive; have it towed.
