Logbay Privacy Policy

Your Log

• – Your vehicles, fill-ups, service records, expenses, reminders and settings are stored in a local database on your device (Apple SwiftData).
• – There is no Logbay server. Your log data is not uploaded to us and we never receive a copy of it.

Camera and Photos

• – If you choose to scan a fuel receipt, a service invoice, your VIN or your dashboard, the image is read on your device using Apple's on-device Vision text recognition to fill in the form for you.
• – If you save a photo of a vehicle document (for example registration or insurance), it is stored in the app on your device, and in your own iCloud if you turned on iCloud sync.
• – Images and the recognised text stay on your device. They are not uploaded to us or to any third party.
• – Camera and photo access is requested only when you use these features, and you can decline or revoke it at any time in iOS Settings.

Location (Optional)

• – Logbay can remind you to log a fill-up when you visit a gas station. This reminder is off unless you turn it on.
• – When it is on, iOS tells Logbay when you stop somewhere. To check whether the place is a gas station, Logbay searches Apple Maps (MapKit) for nearby gas stations around that stop; this request goes to Apple, not to us, and is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
• – Your location is never sent to us and no location history is kept, on your device or on our side.
• – You can turn the reminder off in the app, or revoke location access in iOS Settings, at any time.

Vehicle Recall Lookups

Logbay checks for safety recalls using the public U.S. NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) service. To do this, the app sends your vehicle's VIN, or its make, model and year, directly to NHTSA. No name, account or other personal information is sent, and the request does not go through us. You can avoid it by not entering a VIN or by using vehicles outside the U.S. catalog.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

Logbay may offer optional iCloud sync between your own devices. If you turn it on, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit private database. We have no access to it, no copy of it and no way to read it.

No Account

Logbay has no accounts and no sign-in. There is nothing to create, and no profile of you is held on our side.

Purchases

Logbay Pro is purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to manage purchases. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-generated user ID and the purchase receipts Apple issues, which are used to validate your subscription or purchase and to restore it on your other devices.

Logbay on Android

• – On Android, your log is stored in a local database inside the app on your device (Android Room). Logbay keeps a daily backup file in the app's private storage; it leaves your phone only if you share it yourself, for example to Google Drive or by email.
• – Receipt, odometer and VIN scans are read on your device with Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition. Receipts are captured with Google's document scanner, which runs on your device inside Google Play services. Images and recognised text are not sent to us or to Google.
• – Logbay Pro on Android is purchased through Google Play Billing. Payment is handled by Google; we never see your card details. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-generated user ID and the purchase tokens Google issues, to validate and restore your subscription.
• – If Logbay crashes or hits an error, a short report (app version, Android version, device model and the error) is saved on your device only. Nothing is sent unless you open "Report a problem" and choose to send it by email. Reports never include your vehicles, entries or location.
• – The Android app does not use your location.

Analytics and Crash Reports

• – Logbay does not include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
• – If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may share crash reports and diagnostic data with us. This is controlled by you in iOS Settings, and Apple provides it to us without identifying you.

What We Do Not Collect

• – No advertising identifiers (IDFA), no ad networks and no ads.
• – No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
• – No data sold or shared with data brokers.

This Website (logbay.app)

• – The app and this website are separate: nothing you do on the website is linked to the app or to your log.
• – We count visits with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics service that uses no cookies and stores no personal data. It records the page, the referring site, the country and the device type, so we can see which pages are useful.
• – We also use Google Analytics 4 to measure which pages lead to app downloads. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics is only loaded after you choose "Accept" in the banner; if you decline, it is never loaded. Elsewhere it is loaded with advertising features turned off. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes your IP address as described in Google's privacy policy. You can change your choice by clearing this site's data in your browser.
• – Links to the App Store include a campaign tag (for example "web-home") so App Store Connect can show which page led to a download. This tag does not identify you.
• – The website has no accounts, no forms and no advertising.

Your Data, Export and Deletion

• – You can export your log as a CSV file at any time from inside the app.
• – Deleting the app deletes all of its data from your device. If you turned on iCloud sync, data kept in your own iCloud can be removed from your Apple Account's iCloud settings.
• – Because we never receive your log, there is nothing of yours on our side to delete.

Children

Logbay is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
